What we do in Danville

Every floor service, one local craftsman.

Danville's historic core — the blocks around Constitution Square and Centre College — is full of late-1800s and early-1900s homes with original hardwood under them. A lot of it has been carpeted at some point, which ironically protected it. Pulling that carpet back is one of the more rewarding calls we get: the boards underneath have frequently never been refinished at all.

Local knowledge

Two Danvilles, two kinds of floor

Danville is a small town with old bones — the streets around Asbury University hold early-1900s homes where original hardwood is still doing its job a century in. Floors like these deserve the careful treatment: real sanding that preserves board thickness, repairs woven in so they disappear, and stain matched to the home's age.

The other Danville is rental property. With a college in the middle of town, a steady share of our Boyle County work is turnaround refinishing between tenants — where the question isn't “how perfect” but “how fast, and how durable.” A one-day screen & recoat at roughly half the price of a full sand usually answers it, and we schedule around move-out dates rather than the other way round.

Danville questions

Asked around Boyle County.

Can you refinish a rental between tenants without losing a week?
Usually yes. If the wood is sound and only the finish is worn, a screen & recoat is a single day with a water-based finish that's walkable that evening. A full sand-and-refinish needs three to five days. We'll tell you at the estimate which one the floor actually needs.
We're restoring an older home near Centre. Do you work with a contractor's schedule?
Yes. Floors go near the end of a renovation for good reason, and we coordinate with your GC or painter so the sanding happens after the dust-making trades are done. We'll hold a slot and confirm it rather than making you chase us.
