The damage we see most

Water is the big one in Central Kentucky — a leaking dishwasher line or a season of wet boots leaves boards cupped, stained, or delaminated. Then pet stains that have soaked past the finish into the wood, gaps that open up from seasonal humidity swings, burns, deep gouges, and boards that are simply broken. Each of these has a different right answer, and the first honest step is telling you which ones actually need board replacement and which will sand out.

How a repair disappears

Replacement boards are laced into your existing floor — woven in so the joints stagger naturally, not dropped in as an obvious patch. Species, board width, and grain are matched to what's already there; in older homes that can mean hunting down old-growth stock rather than settling for what's on the shelf today. Then the repaired area is sanded and finished together with the surrounding floor, which is why a good repair is invisible: the whole surface takes stain and finish as one.

What it costs

Almost always, yes. Staples, paint flecks, gray grime, and even most stains come out with a full sand, and homeowners are routinely stunned by the result. Text us a photo and we'll give you a same-day read on what you're sitting on.

Will pet stains come out?

Gray and surface stains usually sand out. Deep black stains are a chemical burn in the wood and often don't — we'll tell you at the estimate rather than surprise you later, and where needed we weave in matched replacement boards so the repair disappears.

I tried refinishing myself and it went wrong — can you fix it?

Yes, and you're in good company: rented drum sanders are unforgiving, and rescuing DIY jobs is normal work for us. Gouges, waves, edger swirls, blotchy stain — we'll assess it honestly and quote exactly what it takes to make it right.
