How we install hardwood.

Solid or engineered — chosen for the room, not the margin

Solid hardwood can be refinished several times over its life and is the default for main living levels. Engineered hardwood — a real wood wear layer over a stable core — handles humidity swings better, which matters for basements and floors over concrete. We'll recommend based on where the floor is going and how you live, and explain the trade in plain English before you spend anything.

Site-finished, so it matches your home

New boards are installed raw, then sanded and finished in place. That's more work than clicking pre-finished planks together, and it's why the result looks like it has always been there: the new floor is flattened as one surface and takes stain and finish together, so it can be matched to existing floors in adjoining rooms instead of arriving in a factory color that almost-but-doesn't-quite fit. Where new floor meets old, boards are laced into the existing field rather than separated by a transition strip.

The unglamorous parts that decide the result

The subfloor is checked and flattened first, because finish work can't hide a wavy base. Installation is quoted per project, materials and labor itemized separately, so you can see exactly what the wood costs versus the work.

Do you install and finish, or just install?

Both. We install the hardwood and then sand and finish it on-site so the color and sheen match your existing floors — not a pre-finished mismatch that never quite blends.

Should I replace my worn floors or refinish them?

If the wood is sound, refinishing usually wins by a wide margin — it costs a fraction of replacement and keeps the original character. We quote both honestly and tell you which we'd choose in your house.

Solid or engineered hardwood — which is right for me?

It depends on your subfloor, moisture conditions, and the room. Solid can be refinished for generations; engineered handles slabs and basements better. We'll walk you through the trade-offs at your free estimate.
